Spider-Man 3

Life is looking good for Peter Parker. He is settling in with his long love, Mary Jane Watson, still working for the Daily Bugle and saving people and solving crime as his alter-ego, the amazing Spider-Man.

However, challenges are on the way as his best friend, Harry Osborn, takes on his late father’s persona, that of the wicked New Goblin and begins his own quest to avenge his fathers death. This isn’t good news for Peter as Harry knows he is Spider-Man and blames Spider-Man for his father’s demise.

Add to that, Flint Marko, who is the real killer of Peter’s Uncle Ben has fled prison and while on the run is caught in an accident and is transformed into a new super villain, the Sandman. A villain that can change his body into any shape of sand he wants. Now Peter is determined to catch the Sandman and bring him to justice.

While that above would be enough for the movie alone, in Spider-Man 3 there’s much more.

Peter’s famous Spider suit suddenly turns black, amplifying his powers but also the darker facets of his personality. Peter then begins to give in to his new ‘dark’ side, turning away and against those near and dear. Unbelievably he also begins an affair with his new lab partner, Gwen Stacy, who Eddie Brock, a rival photographer at the Bugle is infatuated with.

This sends poor Eddie over the edge but also into the path of the blackness that is consuming Peter. Thus, enters another villain to test Spider-Man, meet Venom, a foe that can mirror everything that Spider-Man can do.

Will Peter and Spider-Man lose out to the dark side (sounds like Star Wars!) or will he beat the demons inside and become the hero he is? While the ending might seem obvious, Spider-Man 3 is anything but.

Action packed, an absorbing storyline, and a movie of iconic status within the superhero genre, Spider-Man 3 is a total must for all fans of the silver screen.
